Nursing Care

The Fleet offers nursing care for all residents who are in need of extensive personal care and medical care from a qualified nurse. Our nursing home has a team of skilled and experienced professionals whose mission is to provide outstanding care. Nursing care greatly benefits individuals with high dependency needs, mental and physical disabilities, long-term health conditions as well as palliative care needs.

We adopt a key nursing approach to nursing care, meaning each resident is allocated a nurse who is dedicated to providing support to both the resident and their families, and who will provide person-centred care and support no matter the time of day or night. Our nurses go above and beyond to ensure every resident is comfortable and content at all times.

Residential Care

Our residential care home in Dartmouth is suited for individuals who need assistance with their daily routine or personal care as doing it alone starts to become a burden. Residential care allows older people to spend their time pursuing their hobbies in a social setting while we take care of everything else.

Residents of The Fleet have the freedom to join in on many activities as they wish whilst meal preparation and housekeeping duties are completely taken off their hands. We make sure to regularly assess our residents so that care plans are accurate and can be altered if needed to meet residents’ evolving needs.

Respite Care

It is often that we need a break from our everyday lives. The Fleet Care Home provides a comfortable stay while your needs are fully met by our loving team; whether you’re caring for a loved one and need a breather or have recently suffered from an injury or recovering from an operation, respite care will be the best method of care.

Our future residents can use this care service as a way of trialling our care home for a few weeks before deciding if the home is right for them. Each person will receive a care package that’s tailored to their needs and wishes to ensure a resident is fully satisfied throughout their stay. A minimum stay of three weeks applies to our respite care to allow residents to settle in and fully reap the benefits of our service.

We Are Always Here For Advice & Support

Knowing when is the right time for someone to transition into a care home can be a daunting time. Care homes differ from residential care homes and nursing homes as often more than one type of care is offered. Our friendly team offers their support and we invite you into our home to discuss your care needs or the care needs of your loved one. That way, you can gain an understanding of the care types on offer and we can advise on whether residential, respite, nursing or dementia care is most suitable. No matter your reasons for needing care, we welcome you with open arms.

Our care home is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission; an independent body that inspects all health and social care services in England. Within the CQC inspection report, all care homes and nursing homes are given an overall rating as well as any areas for improvement. The Fleet strives to maintain the highest standards of care for its residents in order for everyone to lead fulfilling lives within a caring environment.
