We actively encourage all of our residents at The Fleet Care Home to participate in as many arts and crafts sessions as possible, regardless of the nature of the session. It never hurts to pick up a new skill or improve on an old one, and there’s no better time than now to get started.

At The Fleet Care Home, we are committed to assisting our residents in leading content lives that are full of joy and laughter. Our residents have access to a variety of activities and entertainment alternatives, including our wonderful and interesting arts and crafts workshops prepared by our enthusiastic Activity Coordinators.

We know from years of experience that residents who participate in frequent arts and crafts activities here at The Fleet Care Home are often happier and more social resulting in lifelong memories. By enabling residents’ to get creative and follow a task means they receive many benefits such as enhanced hand-eye coordination, cognitive skills, and motor abilities over time by partaking in arts and crafts activities, so the more time they join in, the better.

When it comes to our Activity Coordinators creating our arts and crafts programmes, they’ve always drawn inspiration from residents and staff as well as the incredible surroundings that we’re fortunate enough to have right outside our front door.

Arts & Crafts FAQs

We attempt to develop engaging activities to keep our residents occupied and happy throughout the year, from Halloween to Christmas, Easter and Remembrance Sunday. Whether it’s to celebrate the time of year or to memorialise a historical event, we always aim to incorporate relevant themes into our arts and crafts.

In previous months, our residents have participated in painting, sculpting and creating decorations for our home. Usually residents work on a solo project while enjoying the company of fellow residents and reaping the solo benefits.

Our arts & craft sessions take place every week, amongst other engaging activities that our Activity Coordinators have organised for our residents. We make sure to have a variety of activities available for differing interests.
