The Fleet Care Home is a luxury care home situated in the stunning seaside town of Dartmouth, Devon. With 39 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, we provide sophisticated accommodation for our residents. The Fleet Care Home offers superb levels of Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for older people. Our care home is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission; an independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. Within the CQC inspection report, a care home will be given an overall rating and any areas for improvement. Life at The Fleet Care Home

Our facilities feature superb dining, a hairdressing salon, library, private gardens and a cinema room; all in-house and available at no extra cost. Residents can spend their days participating in a spot of gardening, or watching a film on the big screen in our cinema room; however our residents choose to spend their time, we offer plenty of opportunities.

Our team of Activity Coordinators work hard to ensure that residents enjoy the variety of activities on offer. They provide a weekly activity programme for our residents to participate in as often as they like. We get to know our residents’ likes and dislikes to ensure the activities, events and trips out into Devon meet their requirements. We also take new suggestions on board so that we can keep improving the quality of our services.

Our nursing home provides 24/7 nursing care for all residents who are in need of extensive support from a qualified nurse. Our care team consists of skilled and experienced professionals. Nursing care is greatly beneficial for individuals with high dependency needs, physical disabilities, long-term health conditions as well as palliative care needs.

We adopt the key nursing approach, meaning each resident is allocated their own nurse in order to provide familiarity to residents and their families, and who will provide person-centred care and attention no matter the time of day. Our staff works hard to ensure every resident is always happy in their environment.

Residents of The Fleet can enjoy a social environment and join in on many activities whilst mealtimes and housekeeping are taken care of. We regularly assess our residents so that care plans can be altered if needed to meet residents’ evolving needs, and ensure the correct care is always given.

The staff at The Fleet Care Home receive ongoing, specialist dementia care training in order to provide care for different types of dementia. Our team ensures to treat each of our residents living with dementia as an individual, providing care to meet the specific requirements and interests of the person.

We work closely with our residents and loved ones to understand the lives they have lived and ensure our home meets their expectations. The activities that are created by our Activity Coordinators have been carefully thought out to be inclusive for everyone; living with dementia shouldn’t stop residents from doing the things they enjoy most.
